The Ohio chapter of AFCC is a dynamic alliance of experienced and respected professionals from the state’s legal, social service, and mental health communities committed to minimizing conflict between parents and enhancing the well-being of children.
Members of the Ohio Chapter are judges, magistrates, lawyers, policy makers, psychologists, social workers, mediators, guardians ad litem, parenting coordinators, court administrators, parenting educators, court services providers, and administrative agency personnel, among others.
The goals of the Ohio Chapter are to:
- Provide opportunities for cross-discipline training and continuing education for those involved in making decisions about the care of children living in restructured families
- Provide a forum to collegially share information, network, and explore ideas about current research, and promising policies, practices and programs
- Provide leadership in improving services and justice system processes to help parents and children reach beneficial and enduring resolutions
The Chapter values the unique perspectives and contributions of the allied professionals who mutually seek to improve outcomes for children. Through their collaboration, the Chapter seeks to integrate innovative, effective strategies into the family justice delivery model to better serve the best interests of children.
